Group tries to ease route to school parcel tax

Napa school officials have approved a resolution supporting a ballot initiative that would make it easier to start a new parcel tax for schools.

Today, two-thirds of local voters would have to give the nod for a new parcel tax to pass. But proponents of the Local Control of Local Classrooms Funding Act are gathering signatures in an effort to lower that threshold to 55 percent.
